'I wrote this album on my own in the between times of 2022, on planes, trains, buses, motorways, in hotels, sublets, friend's sofas, cafes and parks. The process was like a songwriter's, growing and tweaking them from unshared improvisations, lyrics and voice memos in search of the right feeling for each song.

The album was launched at a sold out Katjazz session in Lalitpur alongside bassist Rajat Rai, drummer Prajwal Sunar and special guests Abhisek Bhadra on keyboard and Sudhir Acharya on percussion.

‘In the lead up to making this record I was listening to a lot of incredible trios- Chris Speed, Tim Berne, Andrew D’Angelo, Julius Hemphill, Sonny Simmons, Eric Dolphy, Anthony Braxton, Albert Ayler, Ornette Coleman, Happy Apple, Aka Moon. All the beautiful music spun around in my head and these songs came out.'

The music is rooted in the sax trio tradition, filtered through Ronan's personal experiences and inspirations.

Who Owns the Sky? was launched with a UK tour including performances at Cadogan hall and Pizza Express Soho.
